He lived in downtown Owen Sound for a number of years, just down the road from me. I moved to Owen Sound in 1972 and it AFTER that, maybe 2 or 3 years that Mr Albarda moved from a country home to Owen Sound and then built his off-grid home in the country. Having said that, he was one of very few who were actively promoting solar and windmills (designing his own blades). He was ahead of his time in this area. His first solar home is still in use.
