Seems like Apple already has an interesting model for this sort of thing: iTunes. What was launched as desktop jukebox software quickly morphed into the first (the only?) successful online music store (at least for those of you living in the US, UK, France or Germany).
What’s stopping iMovie from becoming rental software as well as easy-to-use editing software? All it needs is a free Windows version and some far-seeing studio executives… Sounds implausible, but Steve Jobs has done it before.
It makes wonder if the next version of the iPod will have a video screen, despite Steve Jobs’ protests to the contrary… He wouldn’t fib us, would he?
